Some news for those of you who are interested in the art and heritage tours, in the UK and/or abroad, that Scott and I undertake through the Travel Editions company. Following a successful run of UK tours in  2022,Travel Editions is running many of its tours this summer. Below are listed some of the tours scheduled for later this year.

Kelmscott reopens after 2 years restoration project

William Morris  which includes Kelmscott Manor, the much loved retreat of William Morris, a place that fitted perfectly with his Arts & Crafts ideals of craftsmanship. Many of Morris’ admirers were to follow in his footsteps by setting up communities in the Cotswolds and have left behind an abundance of fine craftsmanship for us to enjoy. Newly reopened after an absence of more than two years, Kelmscott Manor was Morris’ beloved country home and a great inspiration to him. Cardiff: Gothic Castles to French Impressionism

Enjoy a full guided tour of Cardiff Castle and Castell Coch plus an in-depth look at the Davies Bequest in the National Museum of Wales.

Pre-Raphaelites in the North

Based near Hexham this tour includes Wallingford and Cragside as well as a private visit to Naworth Castle. This tour is slightly longer, with three full days slightseeing.

From Victoriana to Art Nouveau

Revamped for 2022 this tour now includes the Higgins, Bedford and Mackintosh’s masterpiece 78 Derngate, Northampton.

Victorians at the Seaside

Anne will guide you round the Victorian splendour of the Russell-Cotes Art Gallery and Museum. A cruise round Poole Harbour is also included, as well as the glorious Italianate gardens at Compton Acres.

Arts and Crafts in Sussex

Enjoy Standen, the perfect Arts and Crafts house, discovering the Arts and Crafts colony at Ditchling and the outstanding collection of Art Nouveau and Art Deco at Brighton Art Gallery.

Hampshire Arts and Crafts

A special private tour to Ernest Gimson’s Bedales School is the highlight of this tour. We also visit Haslemere and the pretty Arts and Crafts gardens of Vann.

Arts and Crafts Houses and Gardens in Cotswolds

Based in Cheltenham, we visit Court Barn and the Silk Mill in Chipping Campden and The Gordon Russell Museum, Broadway. Hidcote, an outstanding Arts and Crafts garden, Hidcote, completes this tour.

Arts and Crafts in Surrey

A packed tour includes a full day at the Watts Gallery and the Compton Memorial Chapel. A private visit to Munstead Wood, Gertude Jekyll’s own garden, will be the highlight of this tour in 2022.
